Filler is priced per cubic centimetre (cc). How much you need depends on the area and the degree of volume loss — under-eyes often need only 1 cc, while building a chin or restoring mid-face volume may need 2 cc or more.

What is dermal filler and how does it work

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule your body already produces. It holds up to a thousand times its own weight in water, which is why injecting it restores volume and hydration at the same time.

Filler adds volume — it lifts hollow under-eyes, rebuilds a receding chin, smooths deep nasolabial folds and reshapes lips. This is the opposite of what Botox does, which relaxes muscles rather than filling space.

A genuine HA filler is reversible. If you dislike the result or a complication occurs, hyaluronidase enzyme dissolves it. This is a major safety advantage over permanent fillers, which we do not use.

Which brand should I choose

Fillers differ in how tightly the HA is cross-linked, which determines how firm and long-lasting the gel is.

• Soft and fine (Exquiller, Lorient, Restylane Vital Light) — lips, fine lines, superficial hydration.
• Medium (Neuramis Deep, E.P.T.Q. S300, Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC) — nasolabial folds, under-eyes, general volume.
• Firm and structural (Neuramis Volume, Restylane Lyft, Juvéderm Volift) — chin, jawline, cheekbones, anywhere you need real projection.

Your doctor will choose based on the area rather than on price alone. Using a soft filler where structure is needed wastes your money, and using a firm filler in the lips looks unnatural.

Who it suits — and who should avoid it

Suitable for hollow under-eyes and dark circles caused by volume loss, flat or receding chin, thin lips, deep nasolabial folds, hollow temples or cheeks, and general facial volume loss with age.

Not suitable for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection or inflamed acne at the site, have an autoimmune condition affecting healing, or have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine.

What happens at your appointment

1. Consultation — the doctor assesses facial proportion and agrees the areas and volume with you.
2. Syringe check — opened in front of you so you can verify brand, batch and expiry.
3. Numbing cream — 20 to 30 minutes. Most fillers also contain lidocaine.
4. Injection — by cannula or needle depending on the area, typically 15 to 30 minutes.
5. Review — we check symmetry with you before you leave, and book a follow-up at two weeks.

When will I see results and how long do they last

The result is immediate, though there is usually mild swelling for 3 to 7 days. The filler fully settles at around 2 weeks — judge your result then, not on day one.

Longevity depends on the product and the area: soft fillers in mobile areas such as lips last around 6 to 9 months, while structural fillers in the chin or cheekbones can last 12 to 24 months.

Aftercare

• Do not press, rub or massage the area for 7 days unless your doctor tells you to.
• Avoid sauna, steam, hot yoga and intense exercise for 7 days.
• Sleep on your back for the first few nights, especially after under-eye or cheek filler.
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours — it increases bruising.
• Bruising and swelling are normal and settle within a week. Cold compress helps in the first 24 hours.
• Contact us urgently for severe or increasing pain, skin turning white or dusky, or vision changes. These are rare but need immediate attention.
